I have been slaving away on new work as well as commissioned work and thought I'd post a piece I did for myself. Ironically the jumping off point came from a commission where the city was used in the background. I guess I am in family mode and was thinking abut things that are important to me and hopefully will always be there... like my husband and kids. It's hard for me to watch as my friends move out of their studios because the rent is no longer affordable or lose their businesses to the waning economy. The upshot is I felt like I had to look for those little nuggets of good, because I need those things to stay positive. The title for my painting came while I was listening to the radio and an old tune from the 80's came on( gotta love 80's music!). A line from the song "you know this much is true," struck a chord in me and made sense as the title.
