I was recently in Washington D.C. and had the pleasure of checking out the National Gallery of Art. Unfortunately I had to whip through as many of the galleries that I could in my alloted 30 minute window of opportunity. The back story on this is that we had to make it to a 12:30 appointment to see the Washington Monument then hustle on over to Central Station to catch a train. It's amazing how much one can pack into a trip when one puts their mind to it.
When I got inside the Museum I literally had no idea where to start first. I had heard there was a Da Vinci somewhere in this huge place, but lord knows I had no idea where to start. I ended up just going to the right and landing in a room of what I think was 15th century Italian Art. It was a room with many Madonna images. It harked back to a time when all I could do was paint mother and child considering I was seemingly always pregnant.
I am finally out of that stage but I can still appreciate a 15th century Italian Madonna.
